I have credit scores of 637 (Trans), 664 (Exp), and 674 (Equi). I am also rebuilding my credit after having to settle a couple of cards during a divorce a couple of years ago. These scores are up quite a bit in the last two years. I would like to get a credit card to have in case of emergency, and to make small purchases and pay off to up my scores. Can you recommend a cash back rewards card?
Answer:
If you haven't had any bad payments during the last two years, you have chances to qualify for Capital One credit cards designed for average score customers. Consider applying for Capital One No Hassle CashSM Rewards card, which has average purchase APR, 0% intro APR offer and mild annual fee. You will earn 1% cash back on every purchase put on the card and 25% cash back bonus at the end of a year.

No Hassle PointsSM Rewards card could be a good alternative to cash back if you spend much at gas stations, groceries and drug stores. Earn 5 points for each dollar spent on these merchants and 1 point with all other merchants of choice. Redeem the points for a wide range of free merchandise.

A great card offer for fair score is Capital One Platinum, a lowest APR plastic with small annual fee and 0% introductory rate on purchases.

Compare the credit cards' rates and fees online and choose which is most suitable for your credit and financial standing. Apply online today.

I have a Target visa which is now 28.99 percent interest, it is at about 7,000 balance. They say they sent me a letter saying the interest rate was rising, i don't remember this letter,i was late a few times, if i wanted to keep my current rate i shouldv'e signed this letter(?) Anyway i have Fair credit,i applied wtth capital one online, they turned me down. i desperately need to transfer this or get a lower rate. I am paying about 250 a month.
What do i do?? Thank you.
Answer:
If you have been turned with Capital One, there are no other options with balance transfers available to you as customer with damaged credit. The only way to pay your balance off at a lower rate is to get a personal loan. Personal loans usually offer cheaper interest rates that are fixed for the life of the balance. Take out a $10,000 personal loan and pay your credit card debt with it. Then pay the personal loan back at a much lower interest. Personal loan providers have less strict eligibility requirements so you have more chances to qualify for the loan than for a credit card.

I have no credit and just recently got a capital one credit card. How long do I have to use the credit card to create a sufficient credit history?
Answer:
Excellent credit is the result of a long-lasting, no less than 5 years, payment history with the bank. If your goal is to build credit just sufficient for future potential lenders to assess your applications, you need to use the Capital One credit card for at least 2 years, making all your payments on time and keeping balances below the limit. This way, you'll build an average credit rating expressed in 620-650 FICO score which makes you eligible for better credit terms and rates. Once you've achieved the average score, it may take you just a few months of responsible card use to upgrade it to the good level. The key to creating a solid credit history is to make regular on-time monthly payments and keep your card spending low.

Can travel points be used on Singapore airlines? Also, if I transfer a higher interest credit card, are these converted to travel points. Thank you.
Answer:
There are a number of credit cards, primarily issued by major US companies like American Express that allow earning and redeeming points on Singapore Airlines. Each purchase made at Singapore Airlines or anywhere else brings points that are good on any airline, hotel, cruise and more. A good credit card with travel points is Blue Sky from American Express. It awards you 1 point for each dollar spent and allows redeeming the points at any airline, including Singapore Airlines. You will earn unlimited rewards with no blackout dates and travel restrictions. There are no caps on points or expiration dates for the life of the card account. To earn and redeem the points for miles rewards, your account should be open and in good standing. Please note, points are not earned on balance transfer transactions, just as they cannot be accumulated on cash advances or any other activity not related to purchases. If you are currently using a credit card and you want to switch to another one, then the points you've already accumulated will expire.

if i have no credit can i apply for a credit card?
Answer:
The absence of credit history is better than having bad credit, so you have chances to apply and be approved for an attractive credit card online. One of the major companies catering for people with no/limited credit history is Capital One Bank which offers its applications on our website. There are some requirements to pass, so make sure the following statements are about you: you're a young adult with a stable job, income and a credit score at one of the major bureaus; you are a college student or you're new to the place; you've never had a Capital One account before and you've never made any late payments with any current or previous financial institutions. If you meet the statements, consider the following cards

Capital One Standard Platinum offers you no annual fee, 0% intro APR and a reasonable credit limit. Valuable platinum benefits are also available.

Capital One Platinum - Visa has a small annual fee but its interest rate is one of the lowest in the market. Besides, there is also 0% intro APR on purchases until June, 2009.

You may also try the No Hassle CashSM Rewards from Capital One if you'd like to accumulate rewards on card purchases. There is a small annual fee and an average APR applying to this credit card.

Apply for a credit card best meeting your requirements.

How do I apply for a credit card with a monthly inheritance as income?
Answer:
If you can verify your inheritance income with all the necessary documents, you can apply for a credit card online. The size of the income will determine the credit limit you qualify for. What's more important for the bank is your credit history. Assuming that you have the income verifying information, we have selected three credit cards that may suit your current credit rating:

For excellent/good credit history, there is the Discover More® Card, a no annual fee plastic with 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers. You'll earn 1% cash back on each dollar spent with the card.

With a fair (average) credit score, when you are just building credit or trying to improve it after a late payment in the past, apply for Capital One Platinum, a lowest APR card with moderate annual fee and introductory interest rate on purchases. Its limit ranges between $300 and $3000.

If your credit is bad and needs rebuilding, consider a special credit card from First Bank of Delaware. Continental Finance MasterCard®is unsecured and accepted at millions of locations worldwide. It reports to all the major credit bureaus each month, helping you rebuild credit faster. You may know your application results in seconds if you qualify.

So, check your credit rating before you apply for a credit card online. Income is only of second importance.

Is is better to have three credit cards with small balances or one credit card with all the balances combined? Would my credit scores rise if I transfer two credit card balances to one credit card or is it better to pay the three credit card companies individually? Please let me know and thanks!
Answer:
Your question may have different answers depending on how you manage all this. Of course, it's better to have one bill a month than three different bills because it's is easy to control payments. Also, it is usually cheaper to pay a consolidated debt because a balance transfer credit card offers a very low or 0% introductory APR for 6, 12 or eve 15 months. If say you have 3 credit cards with 10% APR, you definitely pay more than if you had 1 credit card with 0% APR.

Concerning your credit score, it may get a small hit- once you apply for a new card - due to the hard inquiry made by the bank. But it will rise again as you pay your bill on time for a sequence of months. If you plan to transfer to an existing credit card, it won't hurt the scores. A serious damage will be made to your credit score if, after transferring balances from the 2 cards, you close these accounts. Closing the accounts will increase your debt-to-credit ration, a situation where your current balance exceeds the credit line available.

With all this said, do transfer the balances, but make sure you keep the old account open and make monthly payments duly on time.

How can I apply for a credit card being that its my first time and I have no credit? Also how would I know which credit card is right for me being that it would be my first credit card?
Answer:
Best first-time credit cards are offered by Capital One Bank, a major card company servicing people with various ratings. If you comply with the basic requirements such as you are a working adult and you have a social security number, you can apply for one of the following cards:

I want to transfer two high apr credit cards to one card. This will NOT be used for purchasing, only paying off these two bills. Which card has lowest fixed apr
Answer:
All low or 0% intro APR balance transfer applications presented online are intended for customers with good/excellent credit history. If you are such one, choose from an array of attractive balance transfer deals and apply online for the most agreeable offer.

If your credit is excellent and you look for a fixed low APR on balance transfers, consider No Hassle PointsSM Rewards card from Capital One. It gives you some of the lowest rates until the balance is paid in full and there is no annual and transfer fee. There is no need to make purchases - in this case what you lose is the rewards only.

If you have good credit, apply for Discover More® Card - Clear which has a 12-month 0% introductory rate on balance transfers and a 3% transfer fee. No annual or set up fee apply. After the introductory rate expires, a standard APR of 10.99% will apply.

An alternative to this card will be Capital One Platinum for good credit rating. It comes with 0% intro APR until October, 2009, no annual fee and 3% transfer fee.

Choose which of the cards will benefit you best. Verify your eligibility before you apply for any of them.

If my credit is somewhat bad, how will i know if i can get approved for e credit card?
Answer:
You'll never know for sure until you apply. However, you increase your approval chances by choosing the right credit card. There is a wide array of card offers available online that may suit your credit rating and we have picked up top 3 for you to consider.

If by "somewhat bad" you mean too short credit history which you are building up yet, you may be approved for Capital One Standard Platinum. This card is designed for limited credit history and offers you agreeable terms and prices for building your rating. It may also suit you if you had a late payment on one or several of your other bills during the last 6 months. With this said, Capital One Standard Platinum may either help build credit or improve it after a late payment in the past.

If your credit is damaged by continual late payments or other defaults on the cardmember agreement, you are more likely to qualify for Continental Finance MasterCard® issued by First Bank of Delaware. This card gives a second chance for those with less than perfect credit as it reports to credit bureaus and offers free online tools to manage your finances.

The greatest chance for approval is offered by the Secured Visa® Credit Card from Applied Bank. This card is relatively cheap compared to other secured credit lines as there is no set up fee and a competitive APR on purchases. The amount you put into the security deposit will determine your credit line. This card is a perfect tool to improve or rebuild your bad credit.

Decide which credit card is right for your credit and apply online.
