I AM CONSIDERING APPLYING FOR AN VISA & OR DISCOVERCARD. I HAVE NEVER WORKED DUE TO A DISABILITY. I RECEIVE SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS. I HAVE ALSO JUST MOVED TO A NEW RESI WITHIN THE LAST FOUR MONTHS. HOW SHOULD I ANSWER THE RESIDENCE, MORTGAGE, AND EMPLOYMENT LINE(s) ON THE CREDIT CARD APPLICATION. WILL IT BE APPROVED? THANK YOU.
Answer:
Try to apply for no credit card or bad credit card. In your application you should answer honestly, mentioning you receive social security benefits and how much they are. If you will be approved, I'm afraid, the terms will be not very advantageous, but st... (more)

I have a credit score of 599-660 depending on which bureau is consulted. I was recently turned down for a credit application, and the reason given was not enough credit history, however I had a long credit history prior to filing for bankruptcy. Prior to filing, I had several negative marks on my history due to late payments and charge-offs. So I'm not sure whether I fall into the fair or bad credit category. Can you reccomend what card would be the best choice for my record?

I also just today applied for a card with another site.

Thankyou.
Claudine

i know my credit score and its a good one...but i cant get approved for a credit card...why is that???
Answer:
Maybe you try to apply for a credit card still not eligible for your credit history. Be realistic and don't try to get a card 'too good' for your present score. (more)

Don't think you will never get a good credit card, as you have all chances to rebuild your bad credit. There are banks specialising in credit cards for bad credit (Orchard, First Premier and some others), so you can apply for any bad credit card via our s... (more)

My husband has a very good credit (above 700). He wants to add me to his credit cards. Because I moved to the US recently I have no credit history. Am I going to 'inherit' his credit or it doesn't influence me at all and I need to build credit on my own?

Thank you in advance
Answer:
After you will be added to your husband's cards, you'll be able to use them, but it will have no effect on your own credit history. You are absolutely right to suggest that you need to build your own credit. So start from the beginning to become an indepe... (more)

My husband has transfered the balance to one of the zero-percent credit cards. He is not making any charges on this card and he set up monthly re-payment plan. How having a big balance is influencing credit score? Is each monthly payment improving the score? or the score will be improved only after he pays off everything?

Thank you.
Answer:
your husband is certainly improving his credit score every month, as one's credit report is renewed monthly. No doubt, having a big balance and paying it off has a positive influence on the credit score. (more)
