Recently I became a licensed real estate agent. Now I am receiving business credit card offers. Considering I am now looked at as an independent contractor, am I able to have a business credit card, or was the pre-approval a mistake? |

Before sending you the pre-approval for a business credit card, the bank had checked your credit history, so in the bank's opinion, you are eligible for a business credit card. It is up to you to decide whether you will take it or not.

Unfortunately, such cards are created for those with good and excellent credit history, and yours is fair. So you have to improve your score a little to use the benefits of balance transfer cards.

Maybe you are paying the annual fee or some other charge - look up the information on all the fees and charges in Terms&Conditions at the site or in the printed copy you possess. If it still won't be clear - ask the bank.

Answer:
Both of you should build up a new separate credit history since every person creates his own one. In this case you should take credit cards individually. Even if you use your husban's credit card, it doesn't have an effect on your credit report, and vice versa.

An acquaintance of mine claims that he went to a website and paid approximately $10. to dispute everything derrogatory on his credit report and within several weeks recieved a letter confirming that his credit score was higher due to the removal of all disputes. He can't remember the website to go to and I can't seem to find what he is talking about. Do you know? Can you give me any advise as to how to dispute derrogatories on my credit? |

Yes, that's a good idea to dispute the inaccuracies to improve the credit score at least a bit. But unfortunately, we do not provide information on where you can do it online, neither can you find this service at our site.
Concerning the question how to dispute:
First, you need a recent copy of your credit report from the credit bureau you apply to.
You dispute online or by mail. The credit bureau initiates an investigation of any disputed credit information.
Investigations usually finish within 30 days from the date of your request. If the bureau cannot verify the disputed information, the disputed item is deleted from your credit report or updated as requested. A notice, containing the results of the investigation, is sent to you by mail.
