Have you ever wondered where did credit cards come from? Or better yet, who was smart enough to invent something that simple, yet so effective and convenient? The concept of credit has been known for a few thousand years. As the technology advanced, credit as a form of payment expanded throughout the world. Today, credit cards are used in almost every service where a payment is required. However, credit cards have never always looked the way we see them now. In fact, credit cards were not always called that way. It was not so long ago that card issuers have started making cards out of plastic. I came of age for credit cards long ago but only recently did I become eligible to buy an auto and apply for credit card to maintain it. I was very surprised to find there is actually a very extensive market of automotive credit cards out there and I could choose myself a credit card depending on the car brand I'm going to purchase. Should I desire Subaru, Lexus or Audi, there is a best reward Visa or MasterCard for each of them, so I thought I should do homework and make a very close car and credit card compare before I come to definite decision.

When I came of age to apply for my first standard US based credit card, I read heaps of literature on how to best use a credit card and how to protect my credit consumer rights. I got educated about credit unions, credit bureaus and a great number of acts regulating their activities. Right from the start I was convinced that credit card institutions with all their regulating systems help people establish credit history and build a good financial background. What bitter truth did I learn when I mischanced to get into serious trouble with my credit cad information leakage.

Though credit cards have become part and parcel of the modern society, there are customers who still hesitate what is better - apply for one or more enticing credit cards or get a traditional loan which is basically considered to be older and so safer. Nobody knows your own cat, dog, parrot, or crocodile better than you. A credit card for your favorite pet seems an elegant solution to show more care to your everyday companion. Our pets... All they - fluffy and playful, singing and squealing, bringing your slippers and comically drinking from the toilet sink, - are extremely devoted. You can nothing but love them as a member of your family. Kept for amusement and joy, a pet is surely not a toy you can ignore for economic reasons. The living creature needs feeding and won't do without veterinary services.

Remember the first time you applied for credit card? What were you thinking about? Most probably, and it is natural, your mind was occupied primarily with things you could purchase with your credit card. It's very unlikely that you tried to work out plans on killing your future credit card debt. Rather such a thing never came to your mind while in the application process. But statistics shows that lots of credit cardholders end up in debt, and when they do - various sophisticated ways of getting out of it are emerging in their heads. Until recently one of the effective ways of clearing off the debt was one's mortgage loan.

Day by day American kids watch how their parents put some cute little thing into an automated teller machine and... as if by magic they get a bundle of cash. It's a complicated task for little kids to understand the principle of credit card processing. Looking back at our childhood, we recall some funny moments concerning money matters. Now we find them ridiculous and stupid, but at that time we had another point of view. The question is: How to teach your child about plastics? And what should children know before their first credit card application?
