Who wants a pair of tickets to the Super Bowl? How about having your favorite team mascot at one of your football parties?
If you have a NFL Extra Points Credit Card, you are in luck. For 200,000 reward points, you could nab a pair of tickets to the big game. For half of that, a team mascot will come to your Sunday spread. Shy of that six-figure point goal? Don’t worry. There are plenty of other football-related rewards, from team apparel to a pair of regular season game tickets.
Official NFL Card
The National Football League and Barclays Bank offer football fans a credit card customized with their favorite team logo, as well as discounts on football related merchandise and offers from sponsors. The reward points accrued can be used towards football-related items and experiences.
If you qualify for the card, you get 10,000 bonus points after your first purchase, redeemable for exclusive NFL experiences or $100 off purchases. The base reward is one point per dollar spent. Earn double points on NFL purchases at nflshop.com, team pro-shops, and in the stadium. Discounts are also available. Get 20% off at nflshop.com, which translates to $20 off every $100 spent.
Users can redeem points for football rewards or 1% cash back statement credits. Points can be redeemed for items and experiences like team jerseys, access to postgame press conferences, lower level game tickets, and team hats.
This card also features a bonus for subscribers of DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket package. It’s free when you spend $750 by the end of the year. There is no annual fee for the card, though your credit has to be good. The introductory rate and balance transfers are 0% for 12 months, and as low as 13.74% thereafter, with a 3% balance transfer fee.
Visa Sweepstakes
NFL fans can also take their chances with VISA's NFL Fan Offers Sweepstakes, which runs until February. Purchases with eligible Visa cards (including the one issued by Barclays) are eligible for 330 weekly prizes and five grand prizes which include experiences like interviewing a player, watching a game with John Madden, listening in person to a pregame speech by a coach to his players, watching the Pro Bowl from the sidelines, and attending the 2013 Super Bowl. The more they use the card, the more chances there are to win.
Maybe you’ll skip the mascot at your next party, but if you are trying to figure out what you want to do with all those points: How about a round of golf with your favorite player? Yes, you can do that too for 100,000 points. Okay, it’s time for that victory dance. Touchdown!
