Does it go against your credit score when you apply for a credit card?
Answer:
It is difficult to answer this question for sure. It depends on too many factors actually - on your history and credit score, on the number of cards you have, etc. You should have a couple credit cards in good standing (you pay on time) open at any time. 3 or 4 with high credit limit is an ideal situation. Too many inquiries might mean that you're taking on too much debt, and that is a risk for lenders. That's why if you apply for too many cards in will decrease your score (because if you want too much credit, this is a risk for banks). If you do not apply too often and have a couple of credit accounts in good standing, it is ok and your score will not be damaged.
