I applied for a Master Card through Stein Mart about a month ago.

After you've applied for a credit card online, you have to wait for the bank's decision. It can take various periods of time, depending on the type of the card chosen. You can be approved immediately (with instant approval cards), wait for a couple of days, a week or even more than a month. You see, the bank needs some time to check your credit report and decide whether you qualify or not. If you're approved, a bank sends you a statement and a card itself by post.
