I currently have a credit card that is ripping me off and I am stuck paying mostly interest as I try to pay it off. When ever I apply for a card over the phone or on the computer, the actual deal I get is no where close to the deal offered by the company. How do I get a card offer in the mail that will give me a good balence transfer rate in which I can take a better control over my bill and spend my money on more important things such as school.
Answer:
If you have limited credit history, it is difficult to get a beneficial credit card with low charges and rewards. The reason why you get deals with less attractive terms than were stated in the advertisement, is that you have worse credit that this credit card requires. In any terms&conditions statement you can find the fees and credit limit dependence on the actual credit history of the customer.
In your situation you should be realistic and get ready to work hard on your credit history. Get your credit report and apply for cards according to your credit conditions, to avoid disillusionment and denials. Be sure, you won't be able to find a balance transfer credit card if you credit is lower than good.
Good luck!
