I have a JUST TIRES credit card that was issued through citibank usa n.a. - i would like to close this account and have it removed from my credit report. I can't find any phone contact on your website. How do I do this? |

Answer:
Actually, the function of our site is to provide our applicants with all kinds of credit card applications. We do not issue credit cards, we do not approve applicants for them. Also, we do not have access to your accounts and can't withdraw money from them or something of the kind. More than that, it's credit card issuer, which is capable of closing your credit card account. Still, the first important rule is to cancel the card only after you have paid off the balance in full. Once you've paid off your credit cards balance you need to cancel the account. Notify your card issuer by phone, printed on the card back, that your balance is zero and you want to cancel your card. Write a letter to credit card issuer, which says you're closing your account and want your credit record to reflect the fact that you requested the account to be closed. Send it by certified mail to escape any misfortunes. Check your credit report in about a month to make sure there are no mistakes in it and contact credit card company customer-service department in case you find any. Your credit card inquiry will stay in your credit report any way, thus, think of proper card cancellation not to deteriorate your credit score. |
