Before you close your credit accounts and apply for a new card, check your credit history. Since your old cards have high APR you probably should not use them. It would be ok if you keep your oldest credit card account and close the other one. You should definitely look for a card with low APR. Select the deal according to your credit history. For consumers with average credit we recommend Capital One cards such as Platinum-Visa, Standard Platinum or Platinum cards. These deals have reasonable ongoing APR and 0% APR on purchases till December, 2008. Keep in mind that to be eligible for these cards you need to have fair credit - not less than 620 FICO points. |
