Is it possible to get a credit card (SECURED) without having a present job?
I do already have cash, and land, total worth in the many thousands.
I do already have two bank debit cards but that is all.
No bounced checks.
no repo's
no bad marks of any kind in over 20 yrs.
No late payments of any kind in over 25 yrs.
I need a card for poosible travel and online purchases, and for emergencys

Answer:
You should read the credit card agreement terms first, to know what the requirements of the bank are. Generally, you can be given a credit if you can prove to the bank the ability to pay. So, if you make the deposit (install an account) in the bank you want to get a credit card from, they are supposed to approve you for the credit card.
As you do not mention your credit score, it is rather difficult to recommend something definite. Look through the secured credit card applications at our site and decide whether some of them meet your needs.
You should also consider pre-paid credit cards, as you supposingly have enough cash just to put onto a credit card. Why getting involved into credit, if you can just convert your money into a more convenient form?
