Getting a credit card today is really rather simple and safe process. However no one ever says that everyone who submits an application will be approved. It is absolutely nonsense, because the whole credit system is based on the various credit risks when the best deals are offered only for people with good history, and those whose credit is bad receive other cards with less favorable terms. And if the banks gave cards to everyone who apply for them they would soon simply go broke or would have to raise the APRs to an extreme level. Thus, if you've decided to get a card you should choose carefully and apply only for those you are eligible for. The most important thing you should do is to request your reports from three bureaus and get to know your current scores. If your score is low (below 620) you can only apply for bad credit deals. Turn, for example, to offers from Columbus, Dakota, First PREMIER, Millennium or Orchard. Of course their terms are not as favorable as those of good cards, they charge annual fee and often also setup fee, and the APR is generally higher.
