hello.
I have a transunion score of 751. I always pay my bills on time and my debt to available credit ratio is less than 10% at all times. I have no negative remarks on my credit report. However, my revolving credit accounts have not been opened very long on average. It averages about a year and a half or so. With that being said... I'm thinking about opening an AMEX account in the near future. Would I be qualified for one of their credit card products? If so, which one would I more likely be approved for? I'm iterested in either blue or clear. Thank you. Great website~!! Very informative. |

Answer:
Amex credit cards are basically designed for customers with good-to-excellent credit and long-term revolving credit history (preferably 5 years and more). But the lender's approval decision depends on lots of other factors which can show you're a good credit risk. So, even if your credit history is young yet, but you have faultless bill payment experience, low debt-to-credit ratio and high and stable income (which is compulsory), you may try applying for one of Amex credit cards available online. Do also mind that the total credit which you'll get if approved for an Amex card should not be possibly approaching your income. If you think you can comply with all these requirements, try the following Amex products. Blue from American Express® has a no annual fee and a lowest purchase APR. You can save on balance transfers and earn point rewards for making purchases. Blue Cash® from American Express has a bit higher APR but offers generous 5% cash back rewards on all purchases including gas. Clear from American Express®is great for its automatic rewards and World-Class Customer Service. You never know about your real chances until you apply. We suggest you try one of these cards if the short credit history is the only factor troubling you. |
