i have good credit and my score is around 745. i want to do a balance transfer of about 8K, what would be my credit limit and how do you increase your limit. This transfer is not for new purchases. just to pay off the card
Answer:

With good credit you can apply and get approved for some of the 0% balance transfer credit cards that are available online. However, keep in mind that if you want to transfer $8,000, you should apply for a credit card with a minimum limit of $10,000. Your ability to get approved for a $10 000 limit will depend on several factors including the amount of debt you have at the moment and your income. Therefore, the issuing bank will not be able to tell you the limit you qualify for before it takes into account everything that demonstrates your ability to pay. However, we can give you an indication of the credit limit range on each balance transfer credit card below:

The Discover More® Card and More® Card - American Flag are both created for those with very good credit who want to take advantage of a 0% introductory APR on balance transfers for 12 months. These cards offer up to $50,000 credit lines and a whole range of benefits. The only difference between these two credit cards is the American flag design on the second card. If you also intend to make purchases on these balance transfer cards, you will also be able to benefit from a 0% introductory APR on purchases and a cash back reward program. However, holding off on new expenses will help you pay off your balance faster.

If you prefer the American Express Company, consider its True Earnings® Card from Costco and American Express. However, keep in mind that it has a low introductory APR on balance transfers that is only valid for six months.

Also remember that the card you apply for should not be issued by the same company as your current credit card.
