Actually, the first thing you should do, is to get a copy of all your three credit bureau reports. Look them through to make sure all the information is correct. If it isn't, follow the procedures of disputing your report. Consider whether you are making at least the minimum payment on your account. When you are out of debt, you can get a secured credit card - one of the best variants to start rebuilding your credit, and pay it off every month. You’ll still get credit for using your credit card, as companies generally report once a month, so you’ll have a small balance even if it’s going to be paid off. You can also try unsecured credit cards, if available. Co-signer can also be a good variant, when a person with good credit shares the debt with a bad credit client.
