The credit score is very important for applying for a card. It is the main indicator of your creditworthiness. It is used to help the lenders to decide whether you qualify for the chosen card or not. According to the most widespread system of scoring the numbers are devided as follows: from 350 to 619 - poor credit, from 620 to 659 - fair credit, from 660 to 749 - good credit and from 750 to 850 - excellent credit. Nowadays people with all types of scores can actually apply for a credit card and be approved. However we recommend you to learn your scores from all three reporting agencies - Equifax, Experian and TransUnion - and be guided by the lowest one (because the lenders usually look at the lowest figure as well).
