If you do fly a lot with American Airlines, it can be worth applying for the Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard®. This card has benefits that can be worth its annual fee provided you are going to use these benefits. Also, the miles you earn with the card can cover the card expenses. Simply make some calculations and if the perks are not worth the card expenses, then you may want to get a no annual fee credit card. For example, it can be the Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard®. The card comes without perks but you will earn miles that can be redeemed with any airline, including with American Airlines.
