I have no credit because I have never owned a credit card before. I will be an undergraduate student for the rest of this summer 2014, but I get my degree in July 2014. I want to build credit, first and foremost. Ultimately I want to qualify for cards with rewards for travel. I am wondering if I can apply for a student card since I will not be a student after July? I do not care about APR or if there is an annual fee, but I am interested in cash back rewards. Do you have a recommendation for me?

You can apply for a student credit card since you are currently a student. After graduation, you can keep using your student card. If you want a cash back credit card, you should consider the Discover it® for Students card. The card offers 1% cash back on all purchases. You can even get 5% cash back if you enroll in rotating categories every quarter. Also, shopping via Discover Deals will bring you from 5% to 20% cash back.

If you are planning to apply for a credit card after your graduation, you should consider credit cards for people without credit history.
