I am new to the big world of credit and I was thinking about starting to build by credit history. The problem is, I have not yet decided what credit card would be a good card for me to start with. I have been planning on buying a new mattress from Sleepy’s. Do you think the Sleepy’s card would be a good card for me to start with?

Well, the thing about finding a credit card to use to start establishing your credit history with, there are a few things you are going to want to have in the card. First of all, you want to make sure the card you are applying for is a card that you are going to be smart about when spending with it. If you earn a debt that you have trouble paying back, it will look really bad to credit bureaus and future lenders. And secondly, you want to ensure the card you have is reporting credit activity to major credit bureaus. The Sleepy’s card is issued through Synchrony Bank so this card does report credit activity. If I were you, I would find a general credit card with a lower APR to make your purchase with.
