Applying for a customer rewards card, or a store loyalty card, is usually pretty straightforward. You can do it at the register or the customer service desk of a store, and they will ask for your phone number and address, as well as your full name. You won't be asked for your social security number, your annual income, or any other highly sensitive information. But a store credit card is different. That is an actual payment card, not just a rewards card, and to apply you will need to give more information. A store credit card can also give big rewards, so be sure you look at your options and think about what you'd like from a card before you decide which one to apply for.
