Broadly speaking, a rewards card is a card that gives incentives (points, miles or cash back) for the amount of money you spend with the card. Rewards cards can be co-branded or they can be general use cards issued by a major bank or credit card issuer. The way rewards cards work is not different from regular credit cards, only you will receive some % back from your credit card spendings. In most cases, you won’t need to do anything to earn rewards, all you should do is shop and receive your cash back, points or miles. But sometimes you should enroll to have an opportunity to earn additional rewards. All your earnings on a reward card are not pure cash you can freely use. You should redeem your earnings and redemption options may be limited to cash, merchandise, travel expenses or some other expenses.
