Every time you apply for a credit card it is a hard inquiry so your credit is impacted. Lenders, landlords, credit card providers, and insurance companies all make hard inquiries. Soft inquiries are when you request for your credit report and when a potential employer pulls makes an inquiry. If you do not want to affect your credit history do not apply too often for credit cards. Try to apply at a six month intervals.
