The latest and greatest iPad will be available to customers along with special new financing from Barclaycard, it was announced this week.
Apple`s new iPad is now available for pre-order and will ship out and also be sold in stores starting March 16. The third version of Apple`s revolutionary tablet device is enabled with the speedy 4G LTE network, has an upgraded camera, Bluetooth 4.0, and ultra-high-resolution 2,048 x 1,536 pixel “retina” display.
People are always eager to get their hands on the newest Apple product, and this one will probably be no exception. Apple stores will likely have folks lined up around the corner on March 16, despite the hefty price tag it carries. The new iPad starts at $499 and tops out at $829 for the fanciest version.
To ease that price tag somewhat, Apple has partnered with Barclaycard to offer free financing for 6-12 months, if you apply and are approved for the Barclaycard Visa through Apple`s website. For purchases under $999, you`ll get six months with no interest, and over $999 you`ll get 12 months.
That means if you buy one iPad with your new Barclaycard and pay for it over six months, you’ll pay between about $85 and $140 a month, depending on which version you buy. A new iPad for $85 a month may allow more people to afford the fancy tablet, driving Apple`s sales up while adding to Barclaycard`s business as well. That`s win-win for everyone involved.
So which iPad should you get, and how do you get this special financing?
Go to Apple`s website and choose your iPad. Now it’s time to make some decisions:
- Black or white? Like the previous iPad, this one comes in either color.
- How many gigs of memory do you need? The iPad comes in 16, 32, or 64 GB versions.
- Wi-Fi only or the new 4G LTE version? The 4G is lightning-fast, but it`s more expensive and you’ll have to pay a monthly carrier fee as well, which will run $15-30 a month.
The most expensive iPad you can get has 64GB of memory and is 4G-enabled, costing you $829. Get the Wi-Fi version with the smallest amount of memory, and you’ll pay only $499 – saving yourself the hefty price tag as well as the monthly charge. It`s all up to you and depends how you plan to use your new toy.
After you`ve made your choice and loaded up your virtual cart, look for the text that says “6 or 12 month special financing options” and click on it to go to the offer page. Once there, you`ll be routed to the Barclaycard site, where you can be approved for your new card in just 30 seconds. You`ll need to create an Apple ID if you do not have one – but this is simple to do, and you`ll need it anyway to buy apps for your iPad.
