Military personnel with Chase credit cards will get special access to two reward websites, and their cash back rewards will never expire, Chase announced this week on the heels of Veterans Day.
Families of service members who carry Chase cards will be able to redeem cash back rewards for a statement credit, bank deposit, or check. Rewards can be redeemed as soon as they hit the $20 mark, and in increments of $20 thereafter.
The enhanced websites, www.chase.com/militarystarrewards and www.chase.com/militaryfreecash , will let card members access their accounts 24/7 and choose the redemption option they prefer. Eligible cards include the Military Star Rewards MasterCard, Marine Corps Community Service MasterCard, Army Morale, Welfare Recreation MasterCard, Air Force Club MasterCard, and Navy MWR MasterCard.
No Expiration Date
Reward points, which used to have an expiration date, will now be available for redemption with no end date. The cards already offered unlimited cash back on purchases and did not carry transaction fees, which are typically about two to three percent of each overseas purchase.
Military Chase card members get two percent cash back on any purchase they make at specialized Army, Air Force, and other military commissaries and retail outlets. All other purchases earn one percent cash back.
Program Refunds Fees
Another benefit that Chase cards offer military members is the Blue Star Deployment Program, which refunds fees and interest that accrue while card members are deployed. During the deployment of a primary card holder, family members can still use their Chase cards linked with the account, and any fees will be fully refunded.
None of the Chase military credit cards carries an annual fee, and card members have special access to a customer service number exclusively for military families 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
