All dining and entertainment purchases by Citi ThankYou Preferred will now earn double points. That means charges at restaurants, movie theaters, sports events, concerts and even music downloads will earn two points per dollar. All other purchases will continue to earn one point per dollar.
Citi has also announced a lineup of special events exclusively for Citi ThankYou cardmembers that will begin in August. The only way to access these unique experiences is by purchasing tickets with a Citi ThankYou card.
Exclusive events for cardmembers
Ticket sales for these events are available exclusively to Citi ThankYou cardholders, including Citi ThankYou, Citi ThankYou Preferred, Citi ThankYou Premier and Citi Prestige cards.
The lineup includes sports clinics with football star Eli Manning and baseball players David Wright and Mariano Rivera. They also offer VIP privileges at concerts by Josh Groban and Luke Bryan, as well as a VIP package for Motown: The Musical on Broadway. Other events include the New York Comedy Festival, running November 6-10, and Disney On Ice in Chicago on September 13.

If cardholders are traveling to an event, they can also take advantage of Citi’s ThankYou concierge service which offers help making reservations, buying tickets for special events, and shopping recommendations. The concierge service is available at no extra charge to all Citi ThankYou Preferred customers.
Citi ThankYou points do not expire and there is no limit to how many cardholders can earn. Points can be redeemed for a variety of things, including gift cards from retailers like Barnes & Noble, the Gap, iTunes and Amazon. Cardholders can also use points to make purchases directly through Amazon.com and LiveNation.com, which offers concert tickets to events around the country.
