Chase’s Ink Plus Credit Card Increases Points Earning Power

Chase Ultimate Rewards Bumps Up Points to Five per Dollar

Chase’s Ultimate Rewards program just became even better for small business owners. The improved program makes the Ink Plus, a premier credit card for business owners, even more valuable and moves Chase into position to compete for the title of best credit card for small business.

The Ink Plus credit card, designed especially for small business owners, is now offering card holders five Ultimate Rewards points for every dollar they spend at office supply stores and on phone, Internet and cable television service. In addition, they will get two points per dollar for spending at gas stations and hotels. Ink Plus members already get one point for every dollar they spend on the card – now, with this pumped-up program, they can increase their rewards exponentially.

Chase customers should note that the extra-points bonus on this rewards program is not unlimited. Ink Plus only gives five points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent at office supply stores, and two points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent at gas stations and hotels. After that, customers will earn one point per dollar on all spending, with no limits. Ultimate Rewards points never expire.

Doubling Up on Points with Chase Cards

Business owners who have an Ink Plus card, or are considering applying for one, should know that there’s another way to boost your balance with the Ultimate Rewards program. Although not all Chase credit cards participate in Ultimate Rewards, since it is Chase’s premier points program(for example, Chase Freedom, a popular no-annual fee credit card, does not) if a Chase customer has more than one Chase card and one of them is eligible for the Ultimate Rewards program, then points from other Chase cards can be rolled into the Ultimate Rewards account.

That means that if someone has a Chase Freedom card and a Chase Ink Plus card, rewards points earned from Chase Freedom can be transferred into the customer’s Ultimate Rewards account, turning them from regular rewards points into premium rewards points. They can then be used to get free hotel stays, airline tickets, merchandise, gift cards, or cash. As is the case with most rewards programs, cardholders will get the most value from their points when redeeming them for travel.

Ultimate Travel Flexibility with Ultimate Rewards Points

Another thing that makes Ultimate Rewards points valuable for travelers – particularly business travelers who fly frequently – is the fact that they can be transferred to a customer’s preferred airline loyalty program and used to get free flights on any airline. How does it work?

Chase Ultimate Reward Points can be transferred to the United Airlines Mileage Plus program, British Airways Executive Club, Korean Air’s Skypass program, and Southwest Airlines. Since United is a member of the Star Alliance, British Airways is a member of oneworld, and Korean Air is a SkyTeam alliance member, once points are transferred to those programs they can be used to book travel with any airline in the participating alliance. That means Chase Ultimate Rewards Points can be used to book travel on over fifty different airlines.

VIP Treatment for Business Owners

Chase Ink Plus card holders can travel in style, with complimentary admission to VIP airport lounges – there are over 300 participating lounges throughout the world with exclusive access for Chase Ink Plus members. When travelling the world, business owners who carry a Chase Ink Plus card rest assured that they won’t be charged a foreign transaction fee, which will save them two to five percent each time they use their card.

Employers can also get free cards for their employees and set spending limits for each one. The Ink Plus card carries an annual fee of $95, which is waived for the first year.

Richard Quigley, the president of the Ink division at Chase, said in a press release announcing the increased rewards for Ink Plus, “We are continually enhancing our products and services to meet the changing needs of small businesses. Small business owners can choose the card that best suits their purchasing habits, all while earning rewards on the everyday spend of their business.”

This new, improved program makes a premier credit card for business owners even more valuable and moves Chase into position to compete for the title of best credit card for small business owners.
