Interest free balance transfer cards without processing charges are making a return

Till date, the credit cards that did offer great deals on balance transfers also charged the processing fee of up to 3 percent of the total transferred amount. But, a couple of credit card issuers have now made the bold move of offer irresistible interest free balance transfer deals without charging even a dollar towards processing fees. Call it a marketing strategy or advertising USP, these issuers are surely being sought after. Here are the cards that are offering customers great balance transfer offers.

Slate Card from Chase

The first move was made by Chase towards the latter part of 2011. This credit card issuer came up with a balance transfer credit card that did not charge customers any processing fee and also offered an interest free period of 12 months. Card holders who fall under the “premium” and “elite” categories can also avail zero percent interest on all purchases made using the card for the first year as well. Customers who fall under the ‘standard’ category will receive the benefits offered by balance transfers, but can enjoy interest free purchases only for 6 months. However, to avail the complete benefits of the balance transfer deal offered on this card, you will have to avail the transfer within just one month of getting this credit card.

More Card from Discover

The More Card from Discover is another credit card offering great deals on balance transfers. However, the balance transfer deals are being offered only from the beginning of this year. Though most of the terms and conditions regulating balance transfers are the same as that of Chase`s Slate Card, there is one prominent difference. Unlike the Slate card, the Discover More Card offers interest free purchase period for all card holders irrespective of the category they fall under.
