US Bank has joined forces with American Express to offer three new credit cards in its FlexPerks rewards line including the FlexPerks Reserve American Express card, FlexPerks Travel Rewards American Express card and US Bank FlexPerks Select+ American Express Card.
People can earn double points on the top category they spend in and receive up to 20,000 bonus points depending on the card they sign up for. That’s enough for one roundtrip airline ticket worth $400.
Points can also be redeemed for merchandise, hotels, gift cards and a statement credit. The cards also come with travel perks and are outfitted with EMV technology to enhance security.
The top earner
The U.S. Bank FlexPerks Reserve American Express Card is the most lucrative and exclusive card in the lineup. Customers who qualify for this card earn 20,000 bonus points once they spend $3,500 over the first four months.
Cardholders earn double points on cell phone charges and in the category they spend the most on whether that’s airfare, gas, or groceries. They earn one point for every dollar spent on everything else. Charitable donations earn triple points.
People also receive a $500 airport lounge credit per year, along with VIP experiences, luxury 24/7 lifestyle and travel concierge, and access a leading luxury hotel program.
The card also comes with Regus Businessworld Preferred Membership giving them access to 1,500 business lounges. For the first year there is no annual fee, but from then on it costs $299 a year.
Nothing fancy, but not too shabby
With the FlexPerks Travel Rewards American Express Card, people also earn double points on the category they spend the most on and their cellphone bill, and triple points when they donate to charities. All other purchases earn one point per dollar.
Once a year they also receive an additional bonus of 3,500 FlexPoints when they spend $24,000. The $49 fee for this card is waived for the first year. The U.S. Bank FlexPerks Select+ American Express Card earns $1 on all purchases and there is no annual fee.
