American Express has once again been voted as America`s most popular card even as card companies are being questioned about the treatment to their clients. A study done recently, by J.D. Power and Associates has shown that AmEx occupies the top slot since it has continuously been in the good books of its customers.

Some reasons why AmEx has topped the list according to J.D. Power and Associates are the fact that the card holders are satisfied with the customer service, the benefits and rewards that AmEx offers in comparison with the other cards, and above all else, the way AmEx markets its reward options so that the customer gets to choose between the options.

The ranking of some of the top cards are as follows:

American Express - 769
Discover Card - 759
U.S. Bank - 727
Capital One - 699
Citi Cards - 692
HSBC - 686
Client Reviews

According to the review by AskMrCreditCard.com, the rewards offered by AmEx outweigh the annual fees that the customer pays to American Express Gold Card. Also customers feel proud to own an AmEx card because of its high value and respectability it has in the market. Other benefits include transfer of points into air miles, travel bookings can be made through Travelocity, AmEx`s own travel site etc.

Another source from MoneyUnder30.com claims that AmEx is the most appropriate card for anyone under 30 due to its cost structure. The cost of acquiring a card is $25 and there are no credit limits. But payments are expected to be made in full and there is no interest levied.

Another source from About.com found the card to be very useful for frequent travelers as well as business related travels, for the card offers free companion tickets, lounge access at airport, as well as travel protection to name a few. Added to that is the rewards program and excellent customer service.

Credit Card Act and Its Implications

The Credit Card Act has had wider implications on its customers and they seem to be enjoying the benefits. Card holders will now be informed well in advance about a hike in interest rates and any other changes related to their accounts. Card holders are relatively relieved after the act has taken effect because this was over and above what was already being offered.

Most definitely there are many issuers who offer great deals and rewards with the ownership of their cards but AmEx, at the moment seems to top the list with its myriad features and customer satisfaction.
