If you use the wrong credit card at the register it can cost you points, miles and rewards.
Wallaby, a FinTech company, has rolled out a new app for Samsung’s Gear 2 wearable devices to make sure that no longer happens, by providing real time information on which card is offering the best rewards. Users can also track and manage their credit card accounts from their smartwatch.
This is not the first wearable app Wallaby has developed. Earlier this year they launched Wallaby for Pebble and Pay With Wallaby for Google Glass.
The Wallaby for Samsung Gear 2 app is free, and can be downloaded at the Galaxy Gear Manager website. People do need to sign up for a Wallaby account to get and use the app.
The app is then installed in the gear in a similar fashion as a smartphone app. Once it’s downloaded, users enter all their credit card information into the menu.
From that point on when they are out shopping they can use the app to find out which card offers the best rewards by store or category, whether buying clothing, sports gear, or a big ticket item.
According to Wallaby the recommendations are unbiased and based on the information in its database and the algorithms they created for the app.
Finances on the go
Individuals can also use the app to manage their credit card accounts, so they can stay on top of things while on the run.
With a few clicks the app can provide them with up-to-date information on all their cards, including their usage, credit card balance and current limit.
Individuals who do not have a smartwatch can access similar information via Wallet Boost, Wallaby’s free online portal.
Wallaby was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Pasadena, California. The company creates apps and web-based products designed to help consumers maximize credit card rewards and cash back while on the go. They create products for a wide range of operating systems including iOS, Android, and Google Chrome.
