Southwest Airlines has added the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group as a partner in its Rapid Rewards frequent flyer program. Rapid Rewards members will receive 600 points for every qualifying stay at more than 1,300 Carlson Rezidor hotels across the globe.

Hotel brands include Radisson Blue, Radisson, Park Inn by Radisson, Park Plaza, and Country Inns & Suites By Carlson. Rapid Rewards members can earn double points now through March 31, 2013, at participating hotels to promote the new partnership.

Millions of fliers targeted

The hotel group hopes to lure some of the 16 million people who fly the airline annually to its properties. Members of the hotel company’s Club Carlson rewards program who are Rapid Rewards members can convert their Gold Points to Rapid Rewards Points.

Southwest’s frequent flier program offers unlimited reward seats, no blackout dates, and points that don’t expire as long as the member has a flight or a partner earning activity once every two years. Southwest operates more than 3,100 flights a day to 78 airports in its network and AirTran Airway, a wholly-owned subsidiary, has 600 daily flights a day to 54 destinations.

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has properties in 81 countries and territories. The company recently introduced their Club CarlsonSM Premier Rewards Visa Signature® Card to offer a quicker way to earn a free night’s stay. When customers redeem their Gold Points benefits through the hotel chain’s Bonus Award Nights program for two or more consecutive award nights, cardholders get the last night free.
