Target stores nationwide are offering 5% discount on any purchase made by Target cardholders. ‘The discount makes up for the rewards programs at Target stores which expired October 16, 2009′, financial consultant Bryant Park says.
Holders of Target debit cards, credit cards, and Target visa credit cards, (Also known as Target REDcard products) are all entitled to 5% discount on any purchase. Park adds cardholders can best maximize their credit with this opportunity.
Target Financial Services President, Terry Scully said that the pro-consumer discount launched by Target entailed that Target cardholders have the best place to shop because they’re already at stores where the existing low prices are further reduced for their benefit.
Park elaborates President Scully’s statement by saying Target REDcard holders will not be entitled to benefit from the 5% discount when they use their gift or prepaid cards. Moreover, Park says that the discount will not be extended to Target Clinic Services, Target Optical eye exams, and Target Mobile Solutions. Stores and manufacturer coupons, on the other hand, can now also be used with the 5% discount.
Park says that the 5% discount is much simpler compared to previous reward programs that entitles Target cardholders with a 10% initial discount coupon for newly opened Target card accounts and another 10% for future shoppers who have maintained Target cards for a required period of time.
Park says this is good news for the citizens who want to see where their credits are going. Park believes the worth of the cardholder’s credit will be very much appreciated since the 5% discount covers everything from fresh food to entertainment products, household items to electronic devices, and holiday treats to the latest fashion particulars.
For medication, Target cardholders will be entitled to another 5% discount for future shopping once they have made five required purchases using their cards.
The Target Corporation situated in Minneapolis, has 1,750 stores located across 49 states. The corporation has a credit card division.

Park believes that with the way Target manages business; many consumers will see the value in using their cards.
