Lucky One Pass frequent flyer members will be given a chance by Continental Airlines to visit the majestic eight wonders of the world using their miles. Selected frequent flyer members will be asked to participate in an online auction using their miles to get a chance to win a once in a lifetime opportunity to see some of the world's most beautiful man-made infrastructures.

Continental Airlines have already started to send email invitations to One Pass frequent flyer members informing them of this upcoming event. The online auction will take place at auction.continental.com. Continental Airlines have also posted ads in newspapers available in key cities in the U.S., namely New York, Houston and Cleveland. Details and mechanics of the auction are also included in the advertisements.

They have also utilized Twitter to spread the word about this upcoming online event which will be happening on Dec. 9.

Continental Airlines have recently joined one of the world's biggest airline alliance, Star Alliance, whose member companies include United, US Airways and Air Canada. Star Alliance boasts of close to 20,000 flights daily to 1,071 airports and hubs in 171 countries. The airline alliance was more than happy to include Continental Airlines into its group.

Previously, Continental was a member of SkyTeam alliance, but left about a year ago over the decision of two other members of the alliance, Northwest and Delta, to leave the group to establish a merger.

Mark Bersgrud, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Continental Airlines, stated that the online auction was the company's way of celebrating their recent joining with Star Alliance. The airline wanted loyal customers to partake of the company's jubilation over their acceptance into Star Alliance.

The winning bidder will win two business class tickets which will take them to eight different countries around the world, namely Brazil, Italy, India, Jordan, Egypt, China, Mexico and Peru. The winner and his companion from their respective hometown will first travel to Continental's headquarters in Houston where they will be met by airline's official and staff. From Houston they will travel to Rio de Janeiro to see the Statue of Christ the Redeemer, Lima and its Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza in Mexico City, Europe to see the Colosseum in Rome, Taj Mahal in Delhi, Great Wall of China in Beijing, Middle East to Jordan for the Petra, and the Great Pyramid of Giza in Cairo.

Apart from two business class tickets, the winner will also get to enjoy free hotel accommodations in Starwood Hotels and will be provided their own tour guides for each of the destinations.
