On May 11, 2010, US Banks FlexPerks Travel Rewards Card celebrated its first anniversary. The magazine, Kiplinger's Personal Finance, awarded the title of the "Best credit card if You Want Travel Perks" to this card. This travel rewards card offers some of the best travel rewards for consumers who hold this card.

U.S Bank Retail Payments Solutions' Chief Marketing Officer, Cliff Cook said "In just the last 60 days, our FlexPerks cardholders have redeemed over 1 billion FlexPoints. FlexPerks has been a huge success because our customers know that we provide them with tremendous value. For instance, for just 20,000 FlexPoints our cardholders have received airline tickets valued at an average of over $350. That's substantially higher than the $200 award ticket value many other airline and travel rewards cards deliver for 20,000 miles or points."

Right from the time U.S Bank won the award from Kiplinger's it has continued to bring out many positive changes on FlexPerks. One of them includes a $25 allowance on each award ticket. This amount can be utilized by their consumers to pay fees for their baggage, on drinks or food on flights. The people who hold this card are also given the option of redeeming their FlexPoints to pay their annual fees. A meager 20,000 flex points can be used by consumers to pay for airline tickets up to $400. They are given an option of choosing from over 150 airlines with no fees on e-booking, capacity controls or blackout dates.

The card holders who have the FlexPerks Travel Rewards cards will be awarded on flex point for each dollar they spend on the card. If they use their cards to fuel up their cars, purchasing air tickets or paying their mobile phone bills, they get two flex points on every dollar spent. The chances of the customer earning 50% more points on their cards are high if they have a checking account package with the U.S Bank.

The customers who hold these cards have the option of choosing the rewards program they would like to opt for. The points on the card can be redeemed for a variety of other things including travel. They can choose from a list of merchandize options, cashback facility, statement credits and gift cards. The best part is that these cards are as widely accepted as Visa cards.
