When traveling having more points and miles in the “bank” is always better, and this is something that Capital One® knows well, so they are offering cardholders a 25% bonus when they transfer their miles to the Avianca LifeMiles Program. This offer kicked off on July 1, 2019 and is set to run until July 31st.
This announcement comes on the heels of a promotion by Capital One® offering a 20% bonus to cardholders when they transferred miles to Air France and KLM’s Flying Blue program. That promotion ended on June 30th.
Doing the math
Typically when transferring miles from Capital One® to the Avianca LifeMiles Program cardholders do so at a rate of 2 Capital One® miles for 1.5 LifeMiles, yet with this transfer bonus when you do the math cardholders now get 1.876 Avianca LifeMiles for every 2 Capital One miles they transfer to the program.
What does the bonus mean in terms of actual miles? That is a great question. If you transfer 1000 miles from your Capital One account you will get 938 miles to use in the Avianca LifeMiles Program.
When it comes to earning Capital One® miles both the Capital One® Spark® Miles for Business and Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card net people 2 miles for every dollar they spend whether it’s on travel or day to day items, giving them a lot of earning potential.
There is also more earning potential for new cardholders. For instance, the Capital One® Spark® Miles for Business also comes along with 50,000 bonus miles when new cardholders spend $4,500 during the first 3 months they have their card.
One the other hand the Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card comes along with 50,000 bonus miles when cardholders use their new card to buy $3,000 worth of merchandise during the first 3 months they have their card. Plus cardholders earn 10X miles when booking hotel rooms via Capital One.
