The PenFed Pathfinder American Express Card is now available, offering up to quadruple points on travel and 1.5 points on all other purchases. With this new card, there is no annual fee and no limit on how many points’ people can earn.

Cardholders also earn 25,000 bonus points after a $2,500 spend during the first 90 days of having the card. This card is seen as being a way to give their customers more whether they are traveling or staying at home.

“The PenFed Pathfinder American Express Card sets a new standard for rewards cards by providing the most opportunities for cardholders to earn the most points on life’s everyday travel and purchases, all with no annual fee,” said Kevyn Myers, Executive Vice President, and President Payment Systems, PenFed Credit Union.

“This card provides market-leading value to cardholders–more points on more purchases and the freedom to redeem those points for anything they want,” he said.

Earning triple or quadruple points

People who have a PenFed Access America checking account, or who are in the military or have retired from the military qualify to earn quadruple points on travel, while other Pathfinder cardholders earn triple points on travel.

There are no foreign transaction fees with the PenFed Pathfinder Rewards American Express Card. Cardholders also get a $100 Global Entry or $85 TSA PreCheck credit as well. Along with that credit, they also get access to a $100 annual travel fund that can be applied toward baggage fees, as well as other incidental travel expenses.

Additional travel benefits are also part of this cards package, including:

  • Trip cancellation and interruption insurance
  • Travel and emergency assistance
  • Baggage loss and delay insurance
  • Travel accident insurance

Interest rates and balance transfers

Once approved people are automatically enrolled into Pathfinder Rewards Program, so they can start earning rewards. They also get access to free 24/7 concierge service, and this card can be added into mobile wallets so people can streamline payments.

When it comes to interest rates the variable APR starts at 11.99% and people looking to transfer balances can do so for a 0% APR promotion rate for a year. And when taking advantage of balance transfers they pay a 3% balance transfer fee. All these offers and APR’s are dependent upon credit approval.
