News: Marriott Rewards and United MileagePlus Double Rewards - Credit-Land.com

Marriott and United are joining forces so that cardholders with Chase co-branded cards can double down on rewards when booking flights or a hotel stay. The duo's Double Stay, Double Go promotion is running from November 1 through November 30.

When using their Marriott Rewards Premier credit card to book flights with United or make other purchases with the airline, cardholders will earn double points. While United MileagePlus Explorer, Club and Presidential Plus cardholders double the miles when booking stays at Marriott properties and/or paying for hotel services.

Sign up to double down

To take part in promotion cardholders must sign up on the Chase website then book a flight or a hotel stay in November if they want to double up on points and miles earned.

It’s also important to note that United MileagePlus cardholders only earn double miles on stays booked at Marriott if they book their stay through the website, in person, or via the telephone, and not with a discount or third party. They can book a future trip, but it must be paid for in November to qualify for the bonus.

Marriott Rewards cardholders only get double points when booking flights directly through the United website. They don't have to fly in November, but they do have to pay for their tickets with their Marriott credit card that month.

Sweetening the pot

Besides the double points and miles in November, each card comes with its own set of rewards. With the Marriott Rewards Premier credit card people earn four points per dollar on purchases made with Marriott, and two points per dollar on airline tickets, rental cars and eating out. They also get a 50,000 point sign up bonus. Cards are EMV enabled.

With the United MileagePlus Explorer Credit Card people earn two miles per dollar on purchases with United, and receive a 30,000 mile sign up bonus. They also get a wide range of perks and benefits when traveling including priority boarding, and there are no foreign transaction fees when traveling. They also get a set of two United Club passes each year, good for one visit to the club each.

People who opt for the United MileagePlus Club Card don't need the passes because they get full United Club membership, along with Premiere Access, their first two bags get checked for free, and they too forgo foreign transaction fees.
