News: The Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card Ups its Annual Fee - Credit-Land.com

The annual fee for the Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card is going up as of March 28th, 2019. At that point, cardholders will pay $125 each year rather than $95. Individuals who apply before that date will have their annual fee waived, and the pay $95. All other cardholders will pay the $125 annual fee.

That said if people apply for this credit card before April 24th, 2019 and are approved they will be able to earn 100,000 bonus points with their new card. To get the bonus they must spend $5000 during the first 90 days.

Earning double points and more

With the Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card people earn 6x the points when booking stays at Marriott Bonvoy hotels and 4x points when eating out at restaurants in the United States, whether it's for dinner or a quick trip to a fast food franchise.

They also earn quadruple points when pulling in to gas stations located in the U.S as well as when paying for wireless telephone services and when paying for shipping as long as the services are provided by companies in the U.S. All other purchases earn cardholders double points.

When cardholders transfer 60,000 points to a participating frequent flyer program they get 15,000 Marriott Bonvoy points as a bonus. Most programs transfer points at a three-point to one-mile rate. Marriott has partnered with more than 40 frequent flyer programs.

Free nights, Silver Status and more

This credit card also gives cardholders one free award night each year when they reach their anniversary. It can be used for a night's stay when booking a room at a hotel with a redemption level of 35,000 Marriott Bonvoy points or less.

Cardholders also get Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status for free once they are approved for their credit card. Then when they have charged $35,000 during the year they are upgraded to Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status until the year ends.

Other benefits also come along with this credit card including not having to pay foreign transaction fees when traveling abroad and getting free in-room Wi-Fi.
