Absolutely. It's not as complicated as you might fear. You can use your card just as you would a credit or debit card. Swipe, insert or tap the card on the payment reader, depending on whether it has a chip or a magnetic stripe. You may have to enter a PIN if you have set one up, or you may tell the merchant to run the card as credit, not debit, so you don't have to enter a PIN. To check your Vanilla card balance, call the number on the back of the card or go online and set up access to your account through the Vanilla Visa website. If you don't have enough money on your card to cover your purchase, you can use a combination of cash or another payment card along with the Visa card to cover the entire amount due. When your card is out of funds, it is not reloadable, so you will no longer be able to use it. The card doesn't expire, so you can take as long as you want to use up the available balance.
