I am very interested in applying for the Orbitz credit card, but the problem is that I’ve never had a credit card before. I wanted to start building my credit profile and I thought this would be a good card to start with. Do you agree or do you have any other recommendations?

When it comes to finding a credit card you are going to be using to build your credit profile, you don’t want to start with any old card. There are a few specific things you are going to want to have in that credit card. First of all, you want to ensure that the card you apply for is reporting activity to the major credit bureaus. This is very important because this is what actually allows you to build your credit profile. The Orbitz credit card is issued through Comenity Bank, so luckily activity will be reported. Secondly you want to ensure that the credit card you apply for is not going to be the card that is going to cause you to rack up debt. If you get too over your head with spending, it will reflect negatively on your credit score. If I were you, I would look for a credit card with a better spending flexibility, and use it responsibly.
