I am completely new to the world of credit, and I’ve recently planned on applying for a credit card so I can begin to establish my credit history. I have considered a few potential credit card options such as the Woman Within card, but I am not sure which one I should apply for. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations?

If you are a person who is looking to establish and start building a credit profile, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First off, whatever card you apply for, it should be a card that is reporting your credit activity to the major credit bureaus. This part is so important because it is what actually allows you to build your credit history. In addition to this, whichever card you apply for as your first, it should be a card that will not cause you to earn an unpayable debt. Missed or late payments could reflect very negatively on your credit profile and potentially leave you with a bad credit score. We would say forget about the Woman Within store card, and apply for a general card issued by a major bank.
