There are two Delta consumer credit cards and only one of them will get you a companion certificate – the Platinum Delta SkyMiles credit card. This card has an annual fee of $195. The rewards program is pretty standard: it gives 2 miles on Delta purchases and 1 mile on all other purchases. The travel benefits are pretty much standard as well. The only exceptional benefit is a companion certificate. If you do not want to pay that high annual fee for only one additional benefit – companion certificate, which is given only once a year upon renewal of the Platinum Delta SkyMiles card – then you may want to consider cheaper travel rewards credit cards. The cards do not give a companion certificate, but you will be able to redeem with any airline, including with Delta.
