The TravelBank credit card is not the best option for a student especially for someone without credit history. Travel cards are offered to people with established credit history. There are a lot of other credit cards out there for students who want to build credit history. As a student, you have two options to go with: the first is to apply for a student credit card, and the second is to apply for a secured credit card. Student credit cards are usually unsecured credit cards with some perks like rewards or 0% intro APRs on purchases. Secured cards require a security deposit that will determine your credit limit. Secured cards may have low interest rates, rewards or no annual fees. Both types of cards will report your credit activity to the major credit bureaus, so you will be able to build your credit.
