I often fly with Southwest Airlines but I also fly with other airlines, so I don’t want to apply for their Rapid credit card. I need a card that will get me a reward ticket regardless the airline I fly.

It’s understandable that you do not want to apply for the Rapid Visa card as it won’t allow you to earn big rewards everywhere and won’t allow you to redeem the way you want. Therefore, we can recommend you to consider a general credit card with rewards program, not an airline-branded credit card. For example, the Discover it® Miles can be a good option for you. There are no annual fees and no foreign transaction fees. Every dollar you spend on this card will bring you 1.5 miles. There is no sign-up bonus but all miles you earn the first year will be doubled at the end of your first year. So if you, for example, earn 50,000 miles during the first year, Discover will turn them into 100,000 miles. Earned miles can be redeemed with any airline, provided a ticket is bought with the Discover it Miles card.

It’s a better card for student! I applied for this card last year… this card gives you 1.5x miles per one spent $ and at the end of my first year my miles were doubled!!!! I will not have to spend a lot of money on flight during my vacation :-)

Does this card have foreign transaction fees?

This card doesn’t have foreign fee. I use it while I’m in Europe.

I applied for this card a few months ago and have been using it for all my purchases. I received amazing credit limit of $7000 which is the most I have ever been approved. Credit limit on my other credit cards are $1500 or less. I’m already earning miles and planning my first trip next year. The best credit card I ever have had!
