A credit card with cash back rewards can be a good alternative. For example, it can be a Discover credit card. Some Discover credit cards will allow you to save 5% in rotating categories but you will need to sign up every quarter to earn this additional 5% cash back. If you don’t want to deal with sign-ups, then you may want to apply for a different card. However, all Discover credit cards will give you access to Discover Deals where you can earn up to 20% cash back. Royal Caribbean purchases earn 5% cash back there. But don’t look at rewards programs only, look at the fees and interest rates as well. If you are going to use the card everywhere, you may want a no annual fee credit card with low interest rate. All Discover cards come without annual fees and interest rates will be determined based on your creditworthiness.
