I am new to credit and I wanted to begin establishing my credit history. I frequently buy things from Modell’s and I was wondering if you thought their credit card is good for me to start with. If not, do you have any other recommendations?

When it comes to looking for a card that you are planning to use to start building your credit history, there are a few things you should probably keep in mind. First of all, the card you are looking for should be reporting all credit activity to major credit bureaus. This is very important because this is what ensures that you are actually building your credit history. The Modell’s credit card is issued through Comenity bank, so some credit activity will be reported. Another major thing you want to make sure about your first credit card is that it is going to be the right credit card for you. If the card seems like it is going to cause you to earn an unpayable debt, you should definitely skip this card. Late and missed payments will reflect negatively on your credit profile. If I were you, I would look for a general credit card from a bank with spending flexibility and features that fit your specific needs.
