I am new to the world of credit and I was interested in beginning to establish my credit profile. I have not been sure about what credit card I should apply for. I currently drive a Toyota and I was thinking the Toyota card would be a good place to start. Do you agree? Or do you have any recommendations?

When it comes to finding a credit card to use to start building your credit profile with, there are a few key features you want to have in that card. First and most importantly, you want to ensure the credit card is reporting all credit activity to major credit bureaus. The Toyota credit card is issued through Toyota bank and I am not sure whether or not they will report credit activity so you might be better off with a traditional bank card. Another very important thing to ensure is that the card you apply for is not going to be a card that is going to cause you to earn an unpayable debt. If I was you, I would skip the Toyota card because it’s not really the best starting point. I recommend that you find a general credit card and use it responsibly.
