News: Chase Offers New Benefits for Lyft Riders - Credit-Land.com

Lyft and Chase teamed up to give more rewards to cardmembers who ride with Lyft.

Beginning January 12, a lot of Chase members will be able to enjoy a new valuable benefit - extra points or cash back on Lyft purchases. Cardholders of Chase premium cards will also get a yearlong membership to Lyft Pink, a membership program that offers 15% off car rides, priority airport pickups, relaxed cancelations, and up to three free 30-minute bike and scooter rides per month.

Lyft Rides rewards include:

  • 5% cash back or 5x total points for every Lyft ride, through March 2022. Available to Chase Sapphire, Chase Freedom, Chase Freedom Unlimited, Chase Freedom Student, Chase Ink Business Unlimited, Chase Ink Business Cash, Chase Ink Cash, Chase Ink Plus, or Chase Ink Business Preferred cardmembers;
  • 10x total points for every Lyft ride if the Sapphire Reserve or J.P. Morgan Reserve card is used to pay for a Lyft ride;
  • A free year of Lyft Pink is available to Sapphire Reserve and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardmembers upon activation.

While these benefits are adding some value to Chase cards, their introduction wasn't completely complimentary for premium members. Thus, the annual fee for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card will be increased from $450 to $550 beginning January 12, 2020. Chase will notify existing cardmembers and they will see the new fee on their next renewal date.

To start earning rewards on Lyft rides, you will need an eligible Chase card and an updated Lyft app on your smartphone. You will be able to earn rewards from now and right through March 2022.
