KLM Royal Dutch Airlines or KLM Airlines is the main airline of the Netherlands. It operates approximately 130 destinations in 66 countries. KLM is a part of the Air France-KLM group and a member of SkyTeam airline alliance. Its frequent flyer program Flying Blue is an excellent way to collect miles, considering that it is also used by such airlines as Air Europa, Kenia Airways and TAROM and it also gives you access to the SkyTeam Alliance.
Unfortunately, there is no KLM airlines credit card available to Americans, but you can take a look at the cards that have miles award programs below.

KLM Airlines is associated with Flying Blue loyalty program, which can be used to your advantage. The easiest way to benefit from the program is to earn miles by flying KLM or any SkyTeam airline. Another way is to follow deals and to stay at hotels, buy from partner stores and use car rentals whenever they offer Flying Blue miles for qualifying purchases. You can use Flying Blue miles for four different types of awards: promo awards, classic awards and round-the-world awards. Miles can buy you extra legroom, extra bags, lounge access and meals.
Flying Blue has 5 membership levels. You start at an entry level, which is called Ivory. The Elite status starts from the next level, Silver. The other levels in order of increase are Gold and Platinum. Elite status gives you access to extra benefits like discounts, priority boarding and faster security and passport clearance, complimentary lounge access and so on.
KLM Flying Blue is mostly a program oriented towards Europe. As of today, there is no KLM credit card or other cards associated with the program. But this shouldn’t be the reason to worry since you can find an assortment of credit cards specifically designed for traveling. Using those you can collect miles or rewards for the subsequent redeeming at KLM airlines or somewhere else.
