Halifax offers several different credit cards including the Purchase card, Clarity card and Student card. These Halifax credit cards are MasterCard so they can be used anywhere MasterCard is accepted. Halifax credit cards have variable APRs that are based on a person’s credit score and creditworthiness.
The Purchase card comes with special cardholder features including a long no-interest on purchases period. Halifax Purchase card holders receive up to 20 months of 0% interest. In addition to this, Purchase cardholders also make a balance transfer. With the Purchase card, people that transfer a balance within 90 days of opening their account have 0% interest for six months.
Another credit card offered by Halifax is the Clarity credit card. It comes with no usage fees. What this means is this card will not charge any fees for balance transfers, cash withdrawals or spending overseas. In addition to this card, Halifax also offers a credit card for students. The Student credit card comes with a variable credit limit of up to $1,000. Also, student cardholders receive balance updates and upcoming payment due dates via text message.
The Halifax credit card options offer some special features especially the Purchase card, which is great for big ticket items as it gives you nearly two years to pay off the balance. However the availability of this offer is based on the current state of the cardholders’ creditworthiness. Additionally, the other cards may have high APRs depending on your credit score as well. If the Halifax credit card options don’t seem like they are for you, you may want to look at some of these other credit cards.
